Story:

• The Unlucky Guy ventures into an alleyway and is robbed by a homeless man. He then romances a pretty girl and then is maced by her. Staggering and blind, he is nearly run over by a nazi driving a bronco (yours truly) and then chased. He finds the pretty girl again and gives her a flower, only to be attacked by the Nazi (yours truly again) and beaten with a baseball bat. The Nazi and the Pretty Girl walk off, together.....ahhhh....

Thoughts:

• I don't know if I'd classify this at my first "real" attempt at directing or not. Me and Justin were going to do this film with dialogue called "Portrait of Art", but, it fell through and Justin came up with this silent film idea. We grabbed Kevin and Teresa and pretty much shot the film one afternoon. I edited it on my home camera, using the old two VCR method. Looking back, me and Justin had our disagreements but it was still fun to make. I guess that's why I directed the the next two installments. Nothing like the good ol' days, eh?

Update 1/11/05:

• Upon looking through an old Variety Ltd episode tape, I ended up finding this lost film (i didn't have a copy) of mine. Watching it now is a rather painful experience; the lousy VHS quality, jumpy editing, bad mixing, ect. Of course, this is one of the first things I did, so there is that to take in account. I did find some amusing behind-the-scenes footage that you can look at in quicktime format. A word of warning though, contains strong language! (File size: 15MB)
