Misty Mysterious: Original Score by David Wester

 

Matt's Thoughts:

• I was thinking just the other day just how many projects have me and Dave collaborated on? "Misty Mysterious" certainly has been an interesting project for the both of us. Dave was working with new equipment and I had never attempted a project with make-up/special effects-- so....i'm sure alot of "trial and error" were involved. I definetely love the Main Theme, which grabs you the minute you hear it. I can honestly say it "delivered the goods" when I first heard it. When you work with a composer, the first sampling of a theme can either be a great one or a "not bad....but I was thinking of something different" type of experience. Luckily with Dave, he understands film music and what works in mix of the movie. And believe me, the process of filmmaking can leave you "mixed-up"! (okay, bad joke)

Dave's Thoughts:

• "Misty was quite honestly the hardest score Matt has ever asked me to
  write. The tongue-in-cheek style of Misty combined with elements that I find to be sacred in film (specifically monster attacks) proved to be a
  challenge emotionally draining for me. "Did I do justice to the monster
  attacks?" I'd ask myself as I composed. But, really, I loved writing this score. I was able to let my hair down and be musically goofy while pushing myself further than I'd ever gone on a score. Always welcome... especially after the emotionally serious Roman and Marie."

  Thanks Matt, yet again, for another wonderful opportunity to write some music for a movie. Let's go for #7 soon.
